"Remembered Times"
A lone mounted cowboy sits atop a hill in the moonlight starring down at an old adobe home. Was it the home he grew up in? Was it an old girlfriend's home, or maybe the first home he shared with his wife and kids? I'll let you decide.

"Goin' Home"
This painting was commissioned by a lady who had just lost her husband. She wanted his horse and dog in it as well. They loved to ride in the mountains, and she had a wonderful picture of him riding, and you could vaguely see those crosses in the background. I think it was a blessing from God.

"Bass Reeves, Lawman"
Bass Reeves was one of the most famous lawmen in Indian Territory. He even arrested his own son for murder. This painting was commissioned for a magazine cover, and I really enjoyed researching the life of Bass Reeves before I did this painting. He was an amazing man.

"Searchin' The Shadows"
With rope in hand, this cowboy is searching for a lost cow and calf. I know from experience cows tend to hide after they've been in the canyon for a couple of months. The background for this painting is our family's canyon and the cowboy is my little brother Jessie. He runs the Palo Duro Riding Stables in our canyon.

"Stolen Horses"
This horse thief is busy covering his trail, but I don't think he's in the clear yet or he wouldn't be looking back. The horses and reflection were so complicated, I decided to do a sepia background using only burnt sienna and white. This also helps give this painting the feeling of the "Old West".

"The Horse Whittler"
The Cowboy Santa loves to whittle. This painting is not typical for me because I don't do that many interior story-lines. I like to paint horses too much, but I was able to put four in this one. Not bad for an interior scene.

"Gonna Be In Trouble When Daddy Get's Home"
These youngsters have been having a good time building this snowman but I think Daddy's not going to be happy how they dressed him. I tried to capture the joy of winter fun for kids in this painting.

"Sunday Social Club"
This group of horses spends each Sunday at this hitchin' rail in front of this Chapel. They know that once the service is over, They'll each receive a treat. This painting was a best selling Christmas card for Leanin' Tree for several years.

"The Ambush"
This painting was done for my first book with Harvest House Publishing, "Everything I Know, I Learned From My Grandpa". If you look at this young boy's face, it tells the whole story. Grandpa is about to get a snowball in the face, and I'm sure it will start an all out snowball fight.

"Goodnight In The Palo Duro"
Charles Goodnight built his famous J A Ranch in the Palo Duro Canyon. I wanted this painting to be both a portrait of Goodnight as well as a portrait of the beautiful Palo Duro.
