"Colorado Cowboy"
This painting's setting is one of my favorite places to paint in Colorado. It is the lake below the Maroon Bell's near Aspen. The location is so beautiful, I thought the only way to make it better was to add a cowboy on a good-looking palomino.

"Daisy"
To me, there's nothing prettier than a good-looking mare and colt standing in a field of wildflowers. Some of my favorite days as a painter have been spent in a pasture with several mares and foals in the spring.

"Singin' The Blues"
If you've ever been lucky enough to drive through Texas Hill Country when the bluebonnets are singing their loudest, it's something you'll never forget. The color is spell-binding and so bright it doesn't look real. God's palette has some bright colors.

"Enter The Law"
I did a series of paintings of Texas Rangers. This was one of the first, and my son Joshua was my model. Later, I asked him to grow a handle-bar mustache, which he did. His girlfriend at the time (now his wife) Alexis, hated it. I told him when it would curl on the end I would do the painting. It took several weeks of course, and he began to call me daily asking, "Can you please do the painting, Dad?" Eventually, I got to it, and he shaved the next day. It's hard being an art

"The Hunt"
I've painted several action buffalo paintings, but I think this is one of my favorites. I wanted the viewer to feel that he is in the middle of the stampede, not merely watching it pass.

"Of Colored Clay And Quarter Horses".
I'm pleased to say that this painting appears in the new Taylor Sheridan TV show "The Madison" starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. It appears in Kurt Russell's cabin.

"The Attempt On The Stage"
As I've said before, I love action, and how can you have more action than a stagecoach being attacked in a running battle? When I drove a stagecoach, I was never allowed to go this fast. My dad would not have been happy. By the way, I was once run over by a stagecoach---but that's another story.

"Palo Duro Shadows"
Palo Duro Canyon is beautiful at any time of day, but when the sun is low in the West, the colored clay comes alive. When I paint down there at this time, I'm always amazed at how bright I have to keep the colors on. my palette. Im blessed to live here.

"Bible Study"
This young cowboy has hiked into the woods to study the world of God. Unfortunately, he has discovered several five dollar words and names he's never heard before. His dog is no help, but he wants to be. My models were HiHi Newby and his dog Mollie. I used both of them in several paintings. This print is available on my website store.

"A Run For Their Money"
The title kind of gives this story-line away. This trio isn't fleeing trouble, they're having a race. When I was breaking horses, I participated in several such races myself. I won a dollar or two. I've also lost a dollar or two. Most cowboys I've know would bet on anything. I once saw several dollars change hands betting whether or not a fellow could eat fifteen pancakes, (he did!)
