"The Ploy"
When you're small and trying to bridle your horse in the middle of a large pasture, it's sometimes necessary to hide your bridle and offer a little bribe. This young cowboy knows the process.

"Outnumbered"
Although I love to do action paintings, I'm probably better known for my Christmas and Kid paintings. A painting like this is my favorite. My dad loved them as well. His all time favorite painting was Remington's "Dash For Timber". I'm sure he would have liked this one, too.

"The Good, The Bad , and The Hungry"
I enjoy scenes of the Old West like this one. It's fun to choose the type of clothing, hats, and saddles for each of the characters as well as playing with their positions and placement until I have an interesting composition.

"Raining Gold"
This cowboy's having a great day. There's nothing like being in the high country when the aspens are singing and your dog and good roan pony are by your side. I'm proud to say this painting is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville.

"Of Dust And Gunfire"
I love painting action scenes, especially when the action is coming straight at the viewer. I've noticed over the years that people remember big action paintings. That's why I always try to include one in every show.

"Mid Stream"
30x24 oil on linen It's been a cold wet morning for this cowboy, but the rain has finally stopped. This will be his final crossing before home. He just needed one last look at the trail he has traveled. This painting will be available in Ft. Worth November 8th at the annual Cowboy Artists Of America Show.

"Loose Cinched, Thirst Quenched"
30x40 oil on linen. When I was breaking horses, I always made sure that they could swim. As you may know, many horses will blow up their stomaches when swimming. That's why I would often loosen my cinch a bit before entering the water. Apparently, this cowboy loosened his a bit much, hence the title.

"A Couple Of Shady Characters"
30x40 oil on linen. I enjoy paintings which have strong story-lines. In this case, the viewer gets to imagine how this robbery will play out. The stage coach may get safely away, or it might end in a shoot-out. I set the stage, you decide. This painting will be available in Fort Worth November 8th at the annual Cowboy Artists Of America's Show.

"Pure Cowboy"
24x18 oil on linen. We've all seen men that we knew instantly were "pure cowboy" especially if horseback. I thought a simple vignette using only burnt sienna and white could best tell his story. This painting will be available in Fort Worth November 8th at the annual Cowboy Artists Of America's show.

"The Colorful West"
30x24 oil on linen. I love colorful sunsets. My studio has huge windows which face the west, so I enjoy observing the sunsets each day. Some are stunning. Those are the ones I paint. This painting will be available in Fort Worth November Eighth at the Cowboy Artists Of America's annual show.
