Having been blessed with a large family, Jeanne and I always look forward to a house full of relatives for the holidays. There's nothing like days full of games, food and fun with those we love. This cowboy has just shared with his daughter the story of the Christmas Star so she wanted to ride out on Christmas Eve to see if she could find it. I used my son Joshua and granddaughter Roonie for my models. Any time I use family members for models, it's a win-win. I don't have to pay them, and I know my wife Jeanne will love the painting. This painting like most of mine, has a back-story. This father informed his daughter that he had to be away from home the week of Christmas, but he promised he would return before Christmas Eve. Each day, she would stare out the windows looking for her dad and tonight, he finally arrived. Merry Christmas everybody! This print is available in our store.

This painting was the number one selling Christmas card for Leanin' Tree the year it came out. It was also on the cover of Western Horseman that year. I invented the Cowboy Santa in the mid eighties, and he's been very good to me. Merry Christmas Everybody!

Although it's a bitterly cold and windy night, this cowboy has ridden to town to buy presents for his entire family. He will be greated with plenty of excitement and joy when he arrives home. This painting will always have a soft spot in my heart as it was the first painting of mine licensed by Leanin' Tree for a Christmas card. Merry Christmas everybody!

It's just before Christmas and this Old West town is full of shoppers. The warm light from the shop windows is a welcome sight from the cold chill of the night air. I hope each shopper finds the perfect gift they're looking for. Merry Christmas Everybody!

These cowboys are enjoying the annual Christmas party at their favorite saloon. Probably a good thing their horses know the way home. I'll tell you something interesting about this painting, folks are building an Old West movie set and event center near Tucson, Arizona. This is the first building they've completed, and they totally based it on my paining. I was able to walk through the swinging doors of a saloon from my imagination. Merry Christmas Everybody!

I always enjoy it when I'm able to include kids in my Christmas paintings. I think each of us can remember the magic of Christmas when we were children. In this painting, a grandson is showing his grandfather exactly what he hopes to get for Christmas. I'll bet he gets it. Merry Christmas everybody!
