In this painting, I wanted everything to look very cold except the church, but when I got the canvas all covered, it just looked too cold. I painted the bushes in the foreground warm, and it all came together. Sometimes a painting will tell you what it needs, I always listen when they do.

This one is really special - it just has a good spirit about it. Young folks would call it a good vibe. I too was born in 54 so to me it's a good spirit exuded by this painting.
