A light-colored horse in moonlight makes for an interesting painting. Many artists through the years have given this idea a try. Frank Tenney Johnson was the master. Today, it's Bill Anton. In this painting, I've got a lone cowboy heading home late. Most horses see fine at night, but a few are totally night blind. When I was breaking horses, I always made a point of riding them at night to find out. Of the 96 horses I broke, only two had trouble seeing at night.
