Leanin' Tree Christmas Cards asked me to do this painting and told me to put as much joy in it as possible. Anybody who knew George McSpadden (my model and friend) knows that he was full of joy. I guess it worked because it's been a very successful card, and this image has appeared on four magazine covers.
