Not Bitin’

“Not Bitin'” – Jack Sorenson

A fisherman has to have an abundance of patience.  My dad’s father taught me that during the hundreds of hours we fished together.  Gan-Gan could fish for hours and hours without getting a bite, but after a short while with no success, I’d become bored.  I’d keep changing bait and location and he would say “I wish you would sit down and relax.”

The story-line for this painting like most of the paintings I do of kids is based on my childhood memories.  In this case though the grandson is so bored he falls asleep as does his dog.  The worms in that can are in no danger.
